International Women’s Week 2026: Resistance, Reclamation and Solidarity

A half-day symposium co-hosted by colleagues at York St John University for International Women’s Week 2026.

Join staff and students at York St John University for a half-day event exploring everyday forms of resistance, reclamation and solidarity practiced by women in territories across the Americas and internationally. This event is part of York International Women’s Week.

The event will examine the role of film, photography and other artistic practices innavigatingsocial and ecological justice challenges, while shining a light on the grassroots activist movements being led by indigenous women and other marginalised and oppressed communities across the globe.
